After a successful high school career, LaVine committed to playing for UCLA, where he had an impressive freshman season, showcasing his outside shooting and explosive dunking abilities. His performance garnered attention from NBA draft experts, and he ultimately declared for the 2014 NBA draft, where he was selected 13th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In his early NBA career, LaVine won the Slam Dunk Contest in 2015 and 2016, becoming only the fourth player to win the event in consecutive years. He was traded to the Bulls in 2017 and has since blossomed into an All-Star, earning selections to the 2021 and 2022 NBA All-Star teams. Additionally, LaVine won a gold medal with the United States men’s national basketball team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

However, the past season saw LaVine go down with an injury, causing him to miss a lot of games. As a result, the All-Star guard’s value has plummeted hard in the market.

Chicago Bulls Having a Hard Time Moving All-Star Guard Zach LaVine During the Offseason

Thanks to a lack of playoff success and consistent injury history, LaVine has found himself without any takers in the market. This was reinforced in a video shared on X by SiriusXM Radio about NBA insider Bobby Marks giving his thoughts on the matter.

During the previous season, LaVine only played 25 games due to an injured right foot. In those games, the All-Star guard averaged 19.5 points on 35 percent shooting from beyond the arc, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.

It remains to be seen where LaVine will land in the offseason or if he stays in Chicago. In any case, the Bulls are now realizing how hard it is to improve with the guard in their roster right now.
