The Chicago Bears have revamped their offensive line this season, likely pushing one of their 2024 starters, Teven Jenkins, out of the picture. He could join the Seattle Seahawks.
Jenkins started a career-high 14 games last season for the Bears. The Bears traded for Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson this offseason, meaning there may not be a spot for Jenkins anymore. Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox tabbed the Seahawks as a fit for the 27-year-old.
"The Seattle Seahawks would be a great landing spot for Jenkins," wrote Knox. "Seattle's offensive line was a liability in 2024, and the Seahawks need to protect new quarterback Sam Darnold. The Seahawks are also interested in Jenkins and are scheduled to meet with him on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter."
The Seahawks have made big changes this offseason. They traded Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders and dealt DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Adding Jenkins would be a great move to protect their new quarterback. Spotrac projects Jenkins to sign a three-year, $31 million deal, but his injury history may be a concern.
"Of course, if Jenkins didn't carry some questions, he'd be off the market by now," wrote Knox. "Availability has been an issue for the Oklahoma State product, who has appeared in only 45 games of a possible 68 in four seasons because of injuries."
Without Metcalf, the Seahawks will likely also look to add a new pass catcher for Darnold. However, signing Jenkins to a $31 million deal should not interfere with that endeavor.
