Chelsea Meissner just introduced the world to her bundle of feathered friends

After sharing a series of life updates, the Southern Charm alum returned to Instagram to unveil her family’s new flock of baby chickens. Chelsea teased the arrivals in a short video highlighting the “custom brooder box” built by her brother, Kyle Meissner.

“Expanding the flock!” she captioned the Story.

The South Carolina native went on to show a few close-up shots of four chicks inside the wooden enclosure, which included a heat lamp, pine shavings, a feeder, and a waterer.

Chelsea Meissner says she grew up with chickens around her family farm

Chelsea is no stranger to raising chickens. While competing on Survivor: One World (2012), the former Southern Charm-er surprised her fellow contestants by catching chickens with her bare hands. She spoke about the skill during a red-carpet interview with Reality TV Magazine, saying it may have reflected her farm-life upbringing.

“I was raised on a farm. We did have chickens around,” she told the outlet at a red-carpet event. “I didn’t run out and practice catching chickens. Honestly, that was straight luck. What’s funny about that is I’m out there in camo, and I’m the country girl and people expect me to do something like that (catch chickens), but that surprised me. When I caught both of those chickens, I was like, ‘Maybe I am the redneck girl out here. I better just live this up while it lasts.’ That was cool.”

Chelsea shed more light on her family life in a recent Q&A on Instagram, revealing she is now raising her 1-year-old daughter at her mother’s house.

“I moved my mom in with me when I was 9 months pregnant and she has been a Godsend,” she told her followers. “The three of us do everything together. I’m so fortunate to have top tier assistance. We’re considering home schooling as well.”

The Charleston mom also opened up about her bond with her daughter, admitting she felt “physical pain” whenever she was away from her girl.

“She’s ALL I need in life,” she wrote. “Another wild thing that’s so hard to put into words is how I immediately felt like I’d known her my whole life. She felt familiar straight out of the womb. It’s all so wild.”

Chelsea Meissner shares a career update

Chelsea later confirmed she was still working as a hairstylist but had significantly decreased her workload since welcoming her first child in 2023.

“Yes.. 3 days a week,” she wrote when asked if she still does hair. “However, I haven’t taken on new clients [in] many years.”
