The Boston Celtics may be without Jayson Tatum for most of the 2025–26 season, but they received good news on their other star wing.
Per Shams Charania, Jaylen Brown underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and is expected to be ready for training camp with no restrictions. The Celtics confirmed Wednesday that the procedure — officially described as a “right knee arthroscopic debridement” — was successful.
Celtics Get Positive News on Brown
The announcement puts a bow on a grueling postseason for Brown. He had been battling what was originally listed as a knee impingement. It was later revealed that he had been playing through a partially torn right meniscus. He received pain injections throughout the playoffs just to stay on the floor.
Despite the injury, Brown averaged 22.1 points and 7.1 rebounds over 11 playoff games, including a heroic Game 5 against the Knicks — the kind of performance you’d expect from a former Finals MVP.
Now that his surgery is behind him, Boston can exhale. Brown is expected to be a full participant in training camp. He will likely be the centerpiece of the Celtics’ offense with Tatum sidelined for the foreseeable future following his Achilles surgery in May.
