Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has been named the Atlanta Hawks’ ambitious offseason trade target. Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Named Hawks’ Ambitious Trade Target

The Celtics need to make trades this offseason to avoid having the most expensive roster in the NBA next season.

Brown, the 2024 Finals MVP, is from Georgia.

“Brown would give Atlanta a proven champion and an All-Star No. 2 scorer next to Trae Young—one that has also played elite defense against wings at times. If the homecoming angle does it for you, Brown is also a Georgia native,” Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report wrote.

Brown appeared in 63 games for the Celtics this season. He averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 46.3% from the field, 32.4% from beyond the arc and 76.4% from the free-throw line.

After winning the championship last year against the Dallas Mavericks in five games, Boston lost to the New York Knicks in the conference semifinals this year in six games.

Brown averaged 22.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the 2025 postseason in 11 games against the Orlando Magic and Knicks.

The Hawks haven’t made the playoffs since 2023. They desperately need another dynamic player next to Young and Brown certainly fits that bill.

The 28-year-old Brown will make $53,142,264 next season. The California product has career averages of 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 603 NBA games.

Brown underwent a successful right knee arthroscopic debridement procedure this week. He is expected to participate in training camp without limitation.
