The Celtics got a mix of good and bad news ahead of their tilt against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night at TD Garden. The team ruled out Al Horford (toe sprain) and Sam Hauser (hip impingement) for the second straight game while All-Star forward Jayson Tatum (knee tendiopathy) was upgraded from questionable to available about hour before tip off. Derrick White (shin) will also be back in the lineup after missing Monday’s loss to the Rockets.

Tatum was coming off of playing 41 minutes in a tough loss to the Rockets on Monday night. However, he got the green light to play which comes as no surprise seeing as he’s been one of the more durable stars in the NBA this year, missing just three games thus far.
Horford was a late scratch for Monday’s loss to the Rockets after originally being declared available minutes before tip. Luke Kornet got the spot start in his place but he should move back to the bench tonight with White back in the starting five.
“We found out at the start of the game,” Mazzulla said of Horford’s absence after the Celtics’ 114-112 loss. “[Al] did everything he could to get ready in shootaround, he did everything in his shooting time and right before the game he just didn’t feel comfortable but he did everything he could to play.”
The Bulls will be without top scoring guard Zach LaVine due to personal reason for Wednesday’s matchup. Starting guard Coby White has been upgraded to available after being listed as questionable with a bone bruise. He will be limited to 25-28 minutes according to coach Billy Donovan.
The Celtics and Bulls have split the season series at 1-1 in two matchups this year that includes a road win for Chicago at TD Garden. The Celtics and Bulls will tip off Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in Boston.
