Celtics injury report: 2 players upgraded for Lakers game Saturday

BOSTON — The Celtics will get a boost in their rotation for a showdown against the Lakers on Saturday night as Jrue Holiday and Sam Hauser were upgraded from questionable to available about an hour before tip.

It will be the first game for Holiday since suffering a mallet finger last Wednesday night in a loss to the Detroit Pistons. The veteran guard missed the previous four games with the injury and will be playing with a splint on his right pinky for his first action in ten days. Boston will also have back Hauser after he missed Thursday’s win over the 76ers with a sprained ankle.

Jaylen Brown (knee) and Al Horford (toe) were previously cleared to return after one game absences, making Kristaps Porzingis (illness) the only player unable to suit up Saturday night for Boston. The big man has missed five of Boston’s last six games due to illness but has been practicing with the team.

The Lakers will be without two of their usual starters in Jaxson Hayes (knee) and Rui Hachimura (left patellar) as they go for their ninth straight win.

The Celtics and Lakers will tip off at 8:30 p.m. at TD Garden on Saturday night in a nationally televised matchup on ABC.
