There's been a lot of uncertainty surrounding Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown in the past few weeks. He has been dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out for multiple games, though not consecutively.
Brown has been able to play a few games, but he's also had to miss a few. The Celtics have been monitoring his knee injury for some time, which is why his name still shows up on their most recent injury reports.
The four-time All-Star managed to play in the Celtics' last game against the Miami Heat, but that doesn't necessarily mean his knee problems are in the past.
Ahead of their game against the Phoenix Suns, the Celtics announced that Brown is questionable to play because of a right knee posterior impingement, per Noa Dalzell of SB Nation.
Boston has their playoff seeding pretty much wrapped up as No. 2, so having Brown play seems like a risk they don't have to take. However, Brown's sentiment is that he wants to play, but not because of the NBA's 65-game rule for awards (via Jay King of The Athletic).
Brown is the reigning Finals MVP and is averaging 22.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 60 games this season.
The Celtics star has played through injury in the postseason before. However, if it worsens to the point that he can't play, Boston has to remember that the last time they went into the postseason without him, they were eliminated in the first round in five games.
