The Vancouver Canucks have been linked to a trio of forwards as PTO options for training camp in less than two weeks.

There's no shortage of forwards available on the free agent market for the Canucks to consider, but there are three names that could be a potential fit for Rick Tocchet's group.
Evan Bell of Sportskeeda took a look at options for the Vancouver Canucks and mentioned a trio of forwards that they could sign to professional tryout contracts (PTO) - Blake Wheeler, Cal Clutterbuck and Kailer Yamamoto.

Wheeler and Clutterbuck are in their late-30s and while they may be entering the final years of their respective careers in professional hockey, both would bring plenty of experience to a Canucks team looking to take that next step in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and hopefully, reach the Final in 2024-25.
As for Kailer Yamamoto, who turns 26 later this month, he could be a speedy bottom-six option for the Vancouver Canucks and someone who has the potential of being a 15-20 goal scorer, despite a tough year with Seattle in 2024-25.
We'll have to wait and see if Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin decides to go down the professional tryout contract route in the coming weeks, but it seems that, for now, they are comfortable with the roster they have and will likely still with the guys they have at this time.
The Canucks will open their training camp on September 19th and just five days later, will play their first game of the preseason against the Seattle Kraken. It's an exciting time for Vancouver Canucks fans as the team returns to the ice very soon and there's plenty of optimism surrounding the organization heading into the 2024-25 season.
