The Canucks have had their fair share of contract dealings in the past few years, from J.T. Miller to Bo Horvat and Elias Pettersson; They all took different directions, different turns and ended differently.
After a career-high 40 goals season, Brock Boeser was dealt terrible news when he was pulled from the Canucks' lineup for developing blood clots moments before game seven of the second round against the Edmonton Oilers. Boeser took his time off to properly heal and is now ready to attack a defining year in his career.
Canucks to part ways with Boeser: A trade in consideration?
During an interview with Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre earlier, the Canucks' GM Patrik Allvin made quite the revelation on the team's top goalscorer. After he took a jab at him, he revealed that the Canucks had not yet chosen if they wanted to extend him or not, adding that they would see when the time was right. A decision that would have to come at the NHL's trade deadline, at the latest:
Sportsnet: What about Boeser, who is in the final year of his contract?
Allvin: Brock, first and foremost, we're really pleased to see him trending towards being cleared and healthy here (after developing blood clots during the playoffs). And I'm glad for him that everything has gone well. That being said, I'm expecting him to continue where he finished off last year, find the consistency and play good hockey for us. I have a good relationship with his agent, Ben Hankinson, and we'll see when the time is right.
