Caleb Williams clears air surrounding his ‘Green Bay sucks’ taunts as he embraces new role at the Bears

The Chicago Bears will embark on a fresh chapter this season under the leadership of Caleb Williams . The quarterback has begun to put in his best efforts to fit-in with the local fanbase. Be it in the form of supporting local businesses, greeting the fans positively or hating on other NFL rivals with them, Williams is all-in.

Caleb Williams clears air surrounding his ‘Green Bay sucks’ taunts as he embraces new role at the Bears

Recently, the first pick of the NFL Draft was filmed joining the Chicago Bears fans in booing the Green Bay Packers at a night-out at Old Crow. The decades-old rivalry between the two teams is one that will never cease to amaze.

The friction between the two teams can be traced back to as early as 1921. To date, the NFC rivals have played against one another 208 times, out of which the Bears have won 95 games and the Packers have the supremacy with 107 wins.

Caleb Williams, at his most recent press conference, praised the Chicago sports fanbase.

They’re great, they’re always showing up, whether it’s Sky, Sox, obviously Bears, Cubs and things like that at Wrigley Field.

Caleb Williams said

He then proceeded to justify his move to taunt the Packers in the viral video,

Be myself, that's how I go about everything and enjoy. Obviously, I've said in a bunch of interviews I'm going to be a part of the community, be out there, and enjoy, let everybody see you, just another human. Just enjoying, being myself, and being a part of the community and supporting them. Caleb Williams added

To Williams, he believes that as part of the Bears, he is obligated to hate the Packers.

Caleb Williams is hoping to give the Bears an edge over the Packers in the near future

The Chicago Bears fanbase would expect just one thing of Williams, to beat the Packers every time they meet. After a very long time, the rivalry between the two NFC franchises appears to be competitive and evenly matched. Last season, Jordan Love continued the legacy of Aaron Rodgers as he beat the Bears.

The fascinating part is that Love showed that he is no joke this season. He led the Packers to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. The real question is if Caleb Williams can match up to the level of play that the Packers are now accustomed to.

Bears fans are immensely optimistic since the arrival of Caleb Williams. The fanbase’s primary goal is to eradicate their four-decade-long drought of winning a Super Bowl. However, one step at a time.

Firstly, fans ought to see how the new Bears offense comprising Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, and Rome Odunze would fare on the field. The expectations are sky high for this Bears roster and Caleb Williams in particular. All of this just makes it more exciting to watch him take the field this season.
