C.J. Stroud Sends Strong Message to Stefon Diggs After Texans Departure

After just a season with the Houston Texans, veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs is back in the AFC East Division after signing a three-year contract worth $69 million this offseason with the New England Patriots.

Diggs, who suited up for the Buffalo Bills for four years before becoming a Texan, played for just a total of eight games with Houston, as he suffered a devastating ACL injury that kept him sidelined for the remainder of the 2024 campaign.

Even though he spent just a short time on the field for the Texans, Diggs appeared to have formed a lasting bond with Houston star quarterback C.J. Stroud.

In a recent Instagram story post, the 31-year-old wideout shared a photo showing him with Stroud on the field along with a caption that read: " in forever."

Stroud responded to it with a post as well: "Love ya 4L trim."

Just like his time in Houston, Diggs will be working with a young quarterback in Foxborough. The Patriots have Drake Maye, who was the third pick overall in the 2024 NFL draft, expected to direct the offense from under center in the 2025 season.

The former North Carolina Tar Heels signal-caller had 2,276 passing yards and 15 touchdowns against 10 interceptions on a 66.6 percent completion rate in his rookie season. Those numbers don't exactly jump off the page, but Maye should benefit from the addition of Diggs, a four-time Pro Bowler with six 1,000-yard seasons under his belt.
