Buffalo Bills Fans Call for Tyler Bass Release After Team Works Out Former Packers Kicker

The Buffalo Bills are 2-0 following their dominating win over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. They are the only undefeated team remaining in the AFC East, which means they currently have the early season lead in the division. However, the Bills are far from satisfied with the current makeup of their roster.

In their win over the Dolphins, kicker Tyler Bass missed a midrange field goal that frankly should have been an easy make, given the fact that the wind and weather were not playing major factors in the game.

While the team has not made the decision to move on from Bass, who has been their kicker since 2020, they did bring in a couple of kickers for workouts.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Bills brought in two kickers for a workout on Tuesday: Anders Carlson and Cade York.

Carlson was the kicker for the Green Bay Packers in 2023, having been drafted to take over for Mason Crosby, who was allowed to leave in free agency. He missed more kicks than any kicker in the NFL last season and lost his job with the team for 2024.

Carlson recently worked out for the Detroit Lions but was not signed.

Cade York was released by the Washington Commanders after he missed both of his field goal attempts in Week One this season.

Despite being 2-0, Bills fans remember Bass missing a field goal in the postseason last year and are not willing to possibly lose in the NFL Playoffs because of a kicker again.

Neither Carlson nor York was signed following their workouts, but it is a situation to keep an eye on as the season goes forward.
