Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Sends Cryptic 3-Word Message

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders delivered a three-word message on social media that has set off speculation ahead of training camp.

Browns QB Shedeur Sanders cited for driving 101 in 60 mph zone

Sanders, who does not post often to the social media platform X, turned heads with his short but interesting message.

“Time will tell,” Sanders wrote with a shushing emoji.

The post came in the wake of fellow Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins’ arrest. Many interpreted Sanders’ message as a response to the unfolding news on Judkins, viewing it as a call for restraint and a reminder not to rush to judgment.

Judkins was arrested Saturday in Broward County, Florida, on a charge of misdemeanor domestic violence, creating significant uncertainty for the second-round draft pick’s future. Both the Browns and the NFL are aware of Judkins’ situation and have said they are gathering more information.

Shedeur Sanders Dealing With Own Off-Field Issues

Browns rookies — including Sanders and Judkins — are scheduled to report for training camp on July 18. Judkins is the only one of the team’s draft picks who has not yet signed his rookie contract.

Sanders has dealt with his own recent off-field issues. In June, the fifth-round pick was cited for speeding twice in the Cleveland area. One of the citations was for driving 101 mph in a 60 mph zone. Sanders has since publicly acknowledged his “wrong choices.”

“I’ve made some wrong choices, personally, I can own up to them. I’ve made some not great choices. I learn from it,” Sanders said in a short social media clip addressing the tickets.

The Browns are not expected to punish Sanders for the speeding incidents. However, he’ll likely have to answer questions about it when training camp kicks off.

Shedeur Sanders Facing Uphill Battle in Browns QB Competition

Others saw the message as a move by Sanders to assert himself ahead of training camp, where he’ll face stiff competition in one of the NFL’s most crowded — and confusing — quarterback rooms. Veteran Joe Flacco, former first-round pick Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel will all be in the mix as the Browns search for a Week 1 starter.

Sanders is considered an underdog in the competition after slipping to the fifth round in the draft. But he’s zeroing in on the small details he believes will make a big difference.

“My goal is to be the best teammate and to be as polished as I can be in every aspect,” Sanders said in minicamp. “I view things as I got time. I got time to be able to grow and mature and be able to understand the ins and outs of the defenses and be able to get the good insight from the vets in the room.

“So, I look at it as a plus. I got time to actually be able to really have a great understanding and whenever it’s time for me to play, then it’s time for me to play. But I’m not looking too far in the future about all that. I’m looking [at] every day in practice. … I’m focused on the small things and over time the big things will happen.”

For Sanders, every rep will matter as he tries to overcome the odds and prove he belongs in the conversation, not just as a developmental project, but as a potential Week 1 starter.
