Browns’ Offense Receives Brutal Ranking Entering 2025

The Cleveland Browns offense is in a state of uncertainty entering 2025 with quarterback Deshaun Watson recovering from an Achilles tear sustained last season.

Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Reveals '99% of Hatred' Directed Toward Him Is Due To a Single Person

Since the offense doesn’t have a clearly defined option under center at the moment, one NFL analyst gave the Browns’ offense a brutal ranking ahead of the upcoming 2025 NFL season.

PFSN Ranks Browns the Worst Offense Entering the 2025 NFL Season

Kyle Soppe of Pro Football & Sports Network gave the improved Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense some love when he ranked them behind just the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens entering the upcoming 2025 NFL season.

Soppe wrote, “The Cleveland Browns have been lost at the QB position, and while they now have options to explore in that regard, they’ve done little to demand our confidence in the development world. Jerry Jeudy is a real player, but outside of him, we are left with question marks or rookies — a tough way to win in this era of precision and consistency.”

Using the word ‘lost’ at the quarterback room feels like a gentle word to describe the current situation of that position for Cleveland. Deshaun Watson’s contract and performance has been nothing short of a disaster, which leaves the door open for another quarterback on the roster to make a compelling case for the starting role in 2025 — and potentially beyond.

Soppe added, “Cleveland was our 18th-ranked offense in 2022, 27th in 2023, and dead last in 2024. Things can’t get worse in 2025, but “can’t get worse” and “get better in a meaningful way” are not near the same thing.”

Soppe isn’t too much lower on the Browns’ offense than pessimistic placing of the Raiders’ offense differed from Bleacher Reports’ Brent Sobleski, who ranked Cleveland the 27th best offense in the league shortly after adding Quinshon Judkins, Dylan Sampson, Harold Fannin, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Is a Youth Movement on the Offense Necessary for Cleveland in 2025?

The Browns have Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku who feel like reliable veteran options in the passing game, but not much else feels certain for the Cleveland offense entering 2025. This makes it feel like a youth movement could be in store for the Browns this year.

Sobleski wrote, “At this juncture, head coach/play-caller Kevin Stefanski needs a hard reset and re-establish some kind of identity for his offense. It’ll likely come in the form of the run game after Cleveland added Ohio State’s Quinshon Judkins and Tennessee’s Dylan Sampson in the draft’ second and fourth rounds, respectively.”

Judkins and Sampson are both quality running back prospects, but could struggle to breakout in an offense that could struggle to move the ball this season.

The quarterback situation is what could make or permanently break the Browns in 2025.

Sobleski added, “All the while, the Browns will hope a quality quarterback emerges from the quartet of Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.”

Flacco could be the start the season opener only to cede work to Sanders, Gabriel, or Pickett at some point during the 2025 NFL season.

Ultimately, the Browns’ offense has far more questions than answers entering the year.
