Plenty went right for the Cleveland Browns in their surprising 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Still, there was one injury that left a scare and a bit of a worry going forward.
Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was taken off the field on a flat board and cart in the third quarter on Sunday. The star linebacker took the big hit from Derrick Henry from the brunt of the tackle and appeared to be hurt right away.
From there, JOK was taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center with movement in all extremities. Cleveland’s top linebacker stayed in hospital overnight for observation. Today, JOK sent out a simple three-word message on X that appears to let everyone know he is okay.
“All is well.”
It is unclear whether JOK will miss time and if so how much. The star linebacker had seven tackles and a sack against the Ravens. It was another really good game for him in a season where he has looked like an All-Pro player. Last season, Owusu-Koramoah was named to his first-ever Pro Bowl.
Owusu-Koramoah is up to 61 tackles (10 TFL), three sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble this season. The stud linebacker is on pace to break his career-high 101 tackles that he had last season in 16 games.
Since Cleveland drafted Owusu-Koramoah in the second round out of Notre Dame back in 2019, he has started 41 of 49 games and has become a fan favorite in Cleveland. He has been exceptional both on and off the field.
As bad as it looked Sunday, it is very good news that JOK is going to be okay. Now, we just wait to see if he will miss any time.
