Draymond Green Believes Bronny James Can Be A Good Backup Point Guard In The NBA

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green recently shared his thoughts on Bronny James' potential in the NBA, emphasizing his belief that the young player could be a solid backup point guard. On "The Draymond Green Show," Green highlighted Bronny's attributes and tools that could make him a valuable asset to any team.

"I think he has more than enough attributes and tools and things about him that'll make him a good backup point guard, at least. Backup point guards need to pick up full court."

"He's going to be able to do that with the best of them. Backup point guards need to be able to knock down shots. We know he can knock down a shot. Backup point guards need to be smart, not make mistakes."

"People complain that he played basketball too mistake-free. So again, at worst, we know he's probably going to be capable, and it ain't got to be next year, by the way."

"Y'all draft kids in the top 10 that ain't ready to play next year, and then want to talk about Bronny, who's not in anybody's top 10, and be like, he ain't ready to play next year. But what attributes do they have that we can look forward to building on? And Bronny has some of those."

He elaborated on the specific skills that Bronny possesses, such as his defensive capabilities and shooting proficiency. Green also praised Bronny's intelligence on the court, noting that he plays a mistake-free game, which is a crucial quality for a backup point guard.

Green's confidence in Bronny's potential is noteworthy, especially considering the criticism the young player has faced regarding his readiness for the NBA. Green pointed out the often overlooked reality of the NBA draft process, where many top picks are not immediately ready to contribute at the highest level.

Bronny's recent performance at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago has improved his draft stock, demonstrating his readiness to compete at a higher level. Green believes Bronny's defensive potential, athleticism, and shooting ability make him well-suited for a backup role, which is a crucial position in any NBA team.

Given that the league has numerous backup guards, Bronny could find a fitting role and continue to develop his game.

Draymond Green's endorsement of Bronny James as a capable backup point guard underscores the young player's potential and readiness to take on the challenges of the NBA. With his skill set and basketball IQ, Bronny could carve out a significant role for himself and prove his critics wrong.
