The Denver Broncos had a great first year with rookie quarterback Bo Nix, and his involvement in the offense with Sean Payton was impressive to watch.
If the Broncos are going to be a playoff team again moving forward, they'll need more, and with those two guys at the head of their offense, they should be in a good position.
However, the Broncos could use some more help offensively for Nix, who proved he's worthy of trading a few assets for if it meant the team would be better in the short and long term.
Among the potential options linked to the Broncos in recent weeks is Deebo Samuel, a star wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers who's struggled in recent campaigns.
Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News predicted the Broncos would land him in a trade with the 49ers this offseason, highlighting what he could do in Payton's offense.
"Samuel would be used well in Denver, with Sean Payton and Joe Lombardi designing special packages for him on top of favorable complementary receiving work opposite Courtland Sutton. Samuel needs a change from a winning, veteran-filled locker room, and this would give him a chance to reset as a leader for a youthful up-and-coming contender," Iyer wrote.
Any deal that involves Samuel has to be looked at from an asset standpoint. If the Broncos could get him for a third or fourth-round pick, it feels like a good deal to make.
Anything more than that, and they might be overpaying with his current contract and somewhat questionable play at times.
