With the NFL Combine beginning Wednesday, it means the offseason is officially in full swing, and free agency is getting closer by the day.
PFF's Mason Cameron has given his dream scenarios for each NFL team and the Denver Broncos, including signing Super Bowl-winning receiver Chris Godwin.
Godwin was off to a blistering hot start in 2024, with 576 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Unfortunately, Godwin suffered a torn ACL in his seventh game of the year and was forced to miss the rest of the 2024 season. He was well on his way to a fourth straight 1,000-yard season.
An injury has certainly diminished some of his value, as 2025 will be more of a "prove it" year for the veteran receiver to show he can still compete at a high level. That diminished value should allow Denver to make an aggressive push to add Godwin as another weapon for quarterback Bo Nix.
Godwin would instantly insert as WR2 behind Courtland Sutton, as Denver's current No. 2 receiver is 2024 seventh-round pick Devaughn Vele. Godwin would be the longest-active player in the league in the Broncos' receiver room, as he was drafted just one year ahead of Sutton.
Upgrading the offense around Nix is undoubtedly a step in the right direction for a Denver team that has been looking to return to the playoffs in consecutive seasons.
