Brock Boeser Misses J.T. Miller & Opens Up On the Departure of His Linemate

Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser has opened up on the departure of J.T. Miller, who was his linemate for several years.

In late January, following weeks of drama off the ice and rumors of a rift with Elias Pettersson, the Vancouver Canucks pulled the trigger on a trade that saw J.T. Miller join the New York Rangers.

The trade with New York left plenty of questions for the Vancouver Canucks including where they'll place Brock Boeser in the lineup, who played alongside J.T. Miller for many years including at time as part of the 'Lotto Line' with Elias Pettersson.

When speaking with reporters recently, Brock Boeser shared how he felt about life without J.T. Miller as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.

Boeser said, according to Noah Strang of Daily Hive, that it's been a lot different and has been an adjustment period for himself, adding that he believes he's got to get to the net and the dirty areas more, something Miller used to do quite a bit.

'It's definitely a lot different. When you play with a guy for two years, and a guy to that degree of how good he is, and how good of a passer he is and how he creates space, it's definitely an adjustment,' Boeser said.

He added, 'I feel like I'm trying to understand that it's going to be different, and I've got to play a little different with other guys. I think I can definitely shoot the puck more and get around the net I think I've got to get net front and find those greasy rebounds.'

Boeser, 28, has found himself with different linemates on numerous occasions over the last six weeks including Elias Pettersson against Montreal on Tuesday and Filip Chytil during Vancouver's shootout win in Calgary last night.

In 15 games since the J.T. Miller trade, Boeser has five points (two goals, three assists), 26 shots on goal and is a minus-13.

The Burnsville, Minnesota native is hoping to finish the season strong, as there's a good chance he hits the open market on July 1st and lands a big contract as a free agent.
