Brittany Cartwright opened up about her dating life—and her thoughts on getting married again—in a new interview.
In May 2025, “The Valley” star spoke out on “The Nikki and Brie Show” just before her divorce from her estranged ex, Jax Taylor, was set to be finalized. Cartwright told hosts Nikki and Brie Garcia that she has been dating “a little bit” since splitting from her husband of five years in 2024.
“[It’s] great because I just hadn’t had like attention or affection in my marriage for like a long time, so I lost a lot of confidence,” she said. “And being like made to feel like beautiful again, and it really helped my confidence come back.”
Cartwright noted that her close friend and co-star Kristen Doute has been a big help to her as she gets back into the dating world by researching potential guys who reach out to her. “She’s the best. She’s my little detective,” Cartwright said. “She’ll just find out about whoever it is. She goes and looks up everything she possibly can. She’ll even DM them.”
Brittany Cartwright Is Rumored to Be Dating A Musician
On May 27, Page Six reported that Cartwright has been “casually” dating Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Will Gittens. The outlet noted that Cartwright attended Gittens’ show in Los Angeles in late April and that the two follow and like each other’s Instagram posts. “The Valley” star can also be seen chatting with Gittens in a video posted on music production studio JB Entertainment’s Instagram page.
Cartwright has not confirmed the romance, and a source close to her told Page Six that Gittens is “a friend.” Another insider told Us Weekly, “They aren’t exclusively dating. It’s casual and Brittany’s having a lot of fun.”
Cartwright told “The Nikki and Brie” hosts that she will not bring any man around her son, Cruz, 4, until she is in a serious relationship. “We actually have it in our [divorce] paperwork that unless you’re in a serious relationship for at least six months, I would prefer like a year, but at least six months and we talk about it first, then nobody can be around Cruz,” she said.
Brittany Cartwright Says She Probably Won’t Ever Get Married Again
In a separate interview on “The Give Them Lala” podcast, Cartwright admitted that she doesn’t like being alone. “I don’t really like being single,” she said. “I think I get, like, lonely, but then again, I do have a lot of things I need to work on still, and I need to heal from things.”
Given what she’s been through in her messy relationship with Taylor, Cartwright expressed hesitation about ever marrying again.
“I don’t know if I would legally sign papers again,” she said on “Nikki and Brie Show.” “I think if I do fall in love with somebody and they’ve never been married and they want to have a little something, I would go to a beach somewhere, do something romantic and small.”
“But I don’t think I’m ever going to sign papers again,” Cartwright added. “And if I did, I would definitely sign a prenup this time. A thousand percent. So who knows where life’s going to take me? I’m not really sure, but I don’t see it happening for me.”
