Brittany Cartwright shared an update on the new West Hollywood bar she plans to open without her estranged ex, Jax Taylor. Brittany Cartwright Defends Son After Negative Comments on His Well-Being

“I’m still opening my restaurant,” Cartwright, 36, told her listeners. “I’m so excited. Britt’s WeHo will be open opening soon, hoping, like late March-ish. I know we said October and different things, but it’s just taking a little bit longer to get off the ground because we go in and we’re trying to redo everything, so different things happen along the way.”

Cartwright further explained, “But also with the [California wildfires], a couple of my business partners got displaced. They didn’t lose their homes, thank God, but they were in the area so they can’t go back to their houses for a couple of months. So things have been pushed back just a little bit for that as well.”

“I cannot wait for it to open,” she added, noting that she had already picked out all the wallpaper, fabrics, and artwork for the bar. “I just cannot wait to get it all together and see it all together. This is just another thing that I’m going to keep myself busy with and I’m so excited.”

In 2023, Cartwright and Taylor opened the sports bar Jax’s Studio City. The couple split up several months later after nearly five years of marriage, and their divorce is in process.

Brittany Cartwright Will Go Back to Her Roots With Her New Place

Cartwright hails from Kentucky, but moved to Los Angeles after first meeting Taylor in Las Vegas. Fans may recall that Taylor, who was a bartender at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR lounge at the time, brought his new girlfriend in for an interview. Cartwright was famously dressed in a skimpy romper that Vanderpump felt was inappropriate, but she did ultimately hire the former Hooters waitress as a SURver.

“She became part of the show [due to Jax] and obviously it’s great for the restaurant to have people that legitimately need to work, and she really wanted to work,” Vanderpump told  Entertainment Weekly in 2016. “We were a couple of waitresses down, and I thought, ‘Why not give her a shot?’ She’s actually fantastic. She really is there four or five nights a week.”

On her new podcast episode, Cartwright confirmed that her new bar will be located in the same West Hollywood neighborhood as SUR and Vanderpump’s sister bar, TomTom.

“I’m excited to have my own [bar] and start this new chapter of my life because it’s going to be so cute,” the mom of one said. “And it’s crazy because I’m like three doors down from TomTom. I’m right back in West Hollywood where I started this whole crazy life in LA. So I’m just feeling very grateful and very blessed, and I think everybody’s going to love it. It’s going to be a great place for everybody to come and see and hang out and, yeah, it’s going to be super cute, super girly.  I’m excited.”

Cartwright first announced her business venture two months after filing for divorce from Taylor. On the November 8, 2024, episode of “When Reality Hits”, she noted that “a lot” had changed since she started Jax’s Studio City with her ex. “I did a lot a lot a lot to help that place,” she shared. “I put Mamaw’s beer cheese on the menu and I did all the flowers, I helped decorate, I showed up while Jax couldn’t be there and I tried my hardest to keep everything going.”

“And I love the partners that we have there,” she continued. “And they recently came to me and… Britt’s is coming to WeHo.So, I’m going to be a part owner,” the Bravo star added. “Jax’s is still very near and dear to me because I helped start that but I’m gonna have own my own bar in West Hollywood. Right across from where I started, SUR.”
