BREAKING: Packers Urged to Sign 2x Super Bowl Champion to Help Jordan Love

Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love Reveals His 1 "Must-Have" Item In His Upcoming Wedding To Ronika Stone

The Green Bay Packers are going to have make some significant upgrades if they are to take the next step to becoming legitimate Super Bowl contenders in 2025. Of course, many of these will come on defense, especially among the defensive line and linebacking positions, which were adequate in 2024, but not nearly as dominant as they need to be.

And while wide receiver is the position on offense that is getting the most attention (and rightfully so), there also should be some changes made on the line. Center Josh Myers is entering free agency and, frankly, is not as good of a run blockers as the Packers need him to be, especially with the offense being ran through running back Josh Jacobs.

The Green Bay Packers May Sign Trey Smith Away from the Kansas City Chiefs

With Myers slated to hit free agency, many fans and analysts believe that one of their current offensive linemen could take over at center. Notably, two-time Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins has played the position before, and played it well. Additionally, right tackle Zach Tom has impressed in training camp while taking snaps at center, which makes him an option as well.

Given that there is likely going to be a shift on the offensive line, Green Bay could look to free agency to improve/fill any holes.

Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report believes that the Packers would do well to look into signing Trey Smith, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs:

“The Packers signed Love to a four-year, $220 million extension last offseason. They can protect their most valuable roster investment by bolstering the interior of the offensive line. The front office should take a big swing for Trey Smith if the Kansas City Chiefs let him walk in free agency.”

Per PFF, Smith had a 70.6 pass-blocking grade, which is above average and would be great for Jordan Love. That being said, he had an 80.8 rub-blocking grade, which ranked 10th best among interior offensive linemen. This, of course, would be great for Jacobs.

Both grades were better than Myers’ last season, and both were better than right guard Sean Rhyan’s.
