BREAKING: Packers Meet with Jaire Alexander Clone in Reported Top-30 Visit

Remains Uncertain": Green Bay Packers Insider Reveals Major Jaire Alexander Update

The Green Bay Packers have a variety of needs that they still need to address this offseason. One of these is the cornerback position, which is in the midst of a very clear overhaul. While Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine will return, as will 2024 seventh round pick Kalen King, the rest of the room is going to look very different.

While former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs was signed in free agency to potentially start and provide depth, Green Bay saw Eric Stokes, Carrington Valentine, and Robert Rochelle all leave in free agency.

Additionally, it does not appear that two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander will be returning to the team following two consecutive injury-shortened seasons and comments regarding his frustration with organization.

With these things to mind, it stands to reason that the Packers could target cornerback early and often in the 2025 NFL Draft, and they are hosting one intriguing prospect for a Top-30 visit.

The Green Bay Packers Are Hosting East Carolina’s Shavon Revel for a Top-30 Visit

According to Sports Illustrated‘s Bill Huber, the Packers are hosting projected first round cornerback Shavon Revel from East Carolina for a Top-30 visit:

“East Carolina’s Shavon Revel, one of the most talented cornerback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, will have a predraft visit with the Green Bay Packers next week, according to a source.

“Revel is a potential first-round pick; the Packers almost certainly would have to take him at No. 23 rather than waiting for their spot at No. 54 of the second round.”

Revel allowed less than 50% of passes thrown his way to be completed in 2023, and appeared to be on track for one of the best seasons in the NCAA in 2024 before suffering a torn ACL in practice after just three games.

Doctors say that he will be ready for training camp.

Obviously, fans will immediately point to the injury and the position as comparison points with Alexander, who has been dealing with various injuries that have kept off the field.

But Green Bay is not the only team that is interested in Revel, and it is not hard to imagine why. His game, according to him, is modeled after Alexander’s, whom the prospect has studied closely.

“Everybody wanted to know my story,” Revel said when asked about the Packers at the Combine, Huber reported. “So, it was kind of like they still trying to get to know me. I love the Packers. I mean, I love Jaire Alexander. He was a good cornerback that I look up to. I like how he pressed at the line of scrimmage and stuff like that. I feel like I carry the same attributes that he carried.”

Injuries have not scared the Packers away from taking players in the first round before. They took Rashan Gary in the first round in 2019 despite his injury-shortened season the year prior. If they like Revel, whom they have met with twice now, he is certainly one of the top contenders to be their first round pick this year.
