The Green Bay Packers face some decisions this offseason after failing to win a game during the NFL playoffs. Green Bay could look to bolster the team's receiving group in an effort to take some of the pressure off quarterback Jordan Love.
The Packers will need more from Love if the franchise hopes to be among the NFC contenders heading into the 2025 season. Love threw for 212 yards, 3 interceptions and no touchdowns during the team's 22-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild card round.
Not the kind of numbers needed to win a playoff game, prompting speculation that Green Bay needs to improve the team's offensive weapons. ESPN's Benjamin Solak believes the Packers could get involved in the NFL free agent sweepstakes for one of the Cincinnati Bengals stars.
"While I love the versatility of the Packers' wide receiver room (when it is healthy), they could use a clear WR1 who can take over games with consistent eight-plus-target outings," Solak wrote on Sunday.
"Expect them to be in the Tee Higgins hunt, but if getting him gets too expensive for them, they could package someone like Romeo Doubs -- who will be in the final year of his rookie deal in 2025 -- to grab a frustrated star from another team."
Higgins played on the franchise tag during 2024 giving the wide receiver a $21.8 million salary. If the Bengals do not use the franchise tag again, Higgins will be headed for a lucrative new deal in NFL free agency.
Spotrac projects Higgins' market value to be a four-year, $100 million contract.
