BREAKING: Packers’ Fierce Rival Encouraged to Sign David Bakhtiari After Pitiful Week 3 Performance

Prior to the start of the 2024 NFL regular season, the Green Bay Packers made the difficult decision to release five-time All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari. After tearing his ACL in late December of the 2020 season, Bakhtiari played just 13 games in three seasons. He played one game in 2021, 11 in 2022, and one in in 2023.

After he was released by Green Bay, Bakhtiari continued with his treatment as he recovered from multiple knee surgeries last year. While he still desires to play in the NFL, no team has signed him.

One NFL analyst believes that the Packers’ oldest rival, the Chicago Bears, should make a call to the three-time Pro Bowler.

The Bears lost their second consecutive game on Sunday, a 21-16 defeat at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 363 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, but was also sacked four times.

Additionally, Chicago was only able to muster 63 rushing yards all game against a defense that had given up 261 rushing yards to the Packers in Week Two.

Many of their struggles on offense all season long have stemmed from abhorrent play on the offensive line. The plain truth is that Chicago poured a great deal of money and draft capital into skill positions around their rookie quarterback but did little to provide him with adequate protection.

Bleacher Report believes the Bears should give their old rival a call:

“Part of the issue with Caleb Williams to begin the season is the Bears offensive line hasn’t been great in pass protection. Especially with Larry Borom on injured reserve, the front office should look into bringing in Bakhtiari to give the offense a veteran insurance policy to turn to. If healthy, he can help give Williams a little more time to throw when called upon.”

Bakhtiari has been a player that has been floated as a potential depth piece for numerous NFL teams that are experiencing some issues on their offensive lines. However, he remains unsigned, indicating that teams may not have much faith in his knee and ability to remain healthy.

The five-time All-Pro has also stated that he does not want to be part of any rebuilds. The only thing left for him to accomplish in his NFL career is winning a Super Bowl, and Chicago does not seem anywhere close to doing so.
