The Green Bay Packers have moved on from a surprising number of kickers in recent years. Following the 2022 season Green Bay released legendary kicker Mason Crosby and drafted his (at the time) replacement. Anders Carlson made it all of one season with the Packers before being cut.
Green Bay also moved on from his biggest competition in Greg Joseph. However, one former kicker may get another chance to play for a contender.
Packers Fans Go Absolutely Wild When Former Kicker Gets Try Out With AFC Contender
From our very own Robin Adams:
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Bills brought in two kickers for a workout on Tuesday: Anders Carlson and Cade York.
Carlson was the kicker for the Green Bay Packers in 2023, having been drafted to take over for Mason Crosby, who was allowed to leave in free agency. He missed more kicks than any kicker in the NFL last season and lost his job with the team for 2024.
Carlson recently worked out for the Detroit Lions but was not signed.
Cade York was released by the Washington Commanders after he missed both of his field goal attempts in Week One this season.
Fans, of course, took to social media following the news:
Here is Carlson’s career stats so far:
