LAKE FOREST, IL â The buzz around the Chicago Bearsâ training camp has a new ring to it and it starts with Caleb Williams. After a shaky start filled with turnovers and misfires, the No. 1 overall pick is now silencing critics and showing why the Bears put their future in his hands.
Insiders say Williams has âflipped a switchâ in Ben Johnsonâs complex offense. Heâs stringing together clean practices, making decisive throws, and building undeniable chemistry with rookie tight end Colston Loveland and wideout DJ Moore. His command at the line and comfort under center a weak spot early in camp are now being praised by teammates and coaches alike.
âHeâs doing the work nobody sees,â said Coach Johnson. âAnd itâs paying off.â
While red zone efficiency remains a work in progress, the Bearsâ staff believes Williams could elevate this team sooner than expected. With preseason action approaching, all eyes are on whether the young QB can take this momentum into real game action and finally awaken the sleeping giant that is the Chicago Bears.
