Trade speculation has swirled around Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who has sent mixed signals in regard to his future with the team.
After stating he wanted out of Miami following the 2024 season, Hill walked that back and said he was committed to staying with the Dolphins. But cryptic social media posts recently have led many to believe Hill may not be long for Miami.
If Hill ends up on the trade block, Last Word on Sports' Liam Rebellato suggests the Green Bay Packers as a possible landing spot for him. Here's what Rebellato said about the Packers possibly acquiring Hill.
"The Green Bay Packers are quietly building something with Jordan Love under the center. Adding Hill to an emerging offense, especially alongside former teammate Mecole Hardman, could give the Green Bay Packers the kind of game-changing speed they’ve lacked in recent years," Rebellato wrote.
The Packers have some promising young wide receivers for quarterback Jordan Love, but those players have been inconsistent and the team lacks a true No. 1 wideout, something running back Josh Jacobs pointed out recently.
"We've got a really young group of receivers," Jacobs told 97.3 The Game. "All can be really, really, really special, but I think personally we need a guy that's proven to be a No. 1 already, somebody that we know is going to be a little bit more consistent."
Hill is coming off a down campaign, which has led to concerns about his decline at age 31, but there's a few logical explanations as to why Hill struggled that don't have to do with age.
For starters, Hill didn't have Tua Tagovailoa for six games after he suffered his latest concussion in 2024. Adding to that, Hill's agent revealed that he was playing through a broken wrist, which only stacked the deck against him further.
Adding Hill would instantly give Love the No. 1 wide receiver he needs, and the superstar playmaker can add a much-needed explosive element to the offense, something that could take Matt LaFleur's unit to another level.
Hill will probably cost a Day 2 pick in a trade, but perhaps the Packers can give up less than that if they include one of their young wide receivers in return, something Miami will probably be looking for in order to fill the void left by Hills' departure.
