Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich had to feel like a kid on Christmas morning during the 2025 NFL Draft.
In addition to making Matthew Golden the first wide receiver chosen by the Packers since 2002, Green Bay also nabbed Savion Williams in the third round, dropping the two potential dynamic playmakers into quarterback Jordan Love’s receiving corps that already includes ascending players like Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks.
Packers Optimistic About Williams’ Role, Potential

Williams arrives in Green Bay as a raw talent with an exciting blend of speed, explosiveness, athleticism, and size, capable of climbing the depth chart into a key role in the Packers’ offense.
Earlier this spring, Stenavich opened up about the role he invisions for the 6-foot-4 and 220-pound former TCU standout, who has drawn comparison to Corradelle Patterson.
“He’s a guy that’s really interesting,” Stenavich told reporters, of Williams. “Whether it’s handing him the ball, or his routes down the field. He’s a guy that can make some plays.
“You can come up with a zillion different ways to use him, in your offense. So, that’s one guy who I’m really fired up about.”

Stenavich sounds like a coach who’s ready to deploy Williams as a mismatch creator, either as a pass-catcher or in a similar way that the Falcons used Patterson out of the backfield at times, not to mention gadget play situations.
Last season, at TCU, Williams caught 60 passes for 611 yards and six touchdowns. If Williams is able to come anywhere close to replicating that caliber of production as a rookie, the Packers’ offense and passing game are going to be in a good place.
