Philadelphia Eagles' beloved defensive end Brandon Graham took his moment with the mic at Fanatics Fest in New York City, New York, to call out the New York Giants for just how dumb they are.
"Thank you, Giants fans. Thank you for not being smart because your team left us Saquon [Barkley]," Graham said.
Letting Barkley go might honestly be one of the biggest mistakes that the Giants have made in a long time. He gave everything to that team, played through injuries, carried the offense more times than you can count, and they let him walk in NFL free agency just because they didn’t want to pay him what he deserved.
He was the face of the franchise, a fan favorite, and still had plenty left in the tank. It was a tough look New York, but a great look for Howie Roseman and the Eagles, who did not hesitate to invest in Barkley.
The Eagles signed Barkley to a solid three-year contract worth $37.75 million. What made the deal particularly impressive was that $26 million of that amount was fully guaranteed, showing the team’s strong confidence in Barkley’s abilities.
In his first season with the Birds, Barkley finished rushing for 2,005 yards on 345 attempts and 13 rushing touchdowns. He also hauled in 33 receptions for 278 receiving yards and two more scores. Those numbers were enough to earn him the 2024 NFL's Offensive Player of the Year Award, and helped the Eagles reach and win Super Bowl LIX.
He was also announced as the cover athlete for Madden 26, putting an exclamation mark on his breakout year.
To top it off, the Eagles doubled down on their commitment by signing Barkley to a two-year extension worth $41.2 million, with a whopping $36 million fully guaranteed.
The new deal keeps Barkley in Philly until 2028.
