Brandon Graham Dealt Unfortunate News Before Super Bowl LIX

While the focus for the Philadelphia Eagles has been solely on the Kansas City Chiefs, whom they’ll face in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday in New Orleans, veteran pass rusher Brandon Graham received some unfortunate news on Thursday night.

Although all signs continue to point to Graham playing on Sunday after a remarkable rehab and turnaround from a tricep injury at the age of 36, the star defensive end was nominated for a prestigious award at the NFL Honors, representing the Eagles.

Graham was Philadelphia's nominee for the renowned Walter Payton Man of the Year Award—the biggest honor you can receive in the NFL. However, it was revealed that Graham did not win the award, as Jacksonville Jaguars' Arik Armstead took home the honors, which was certainly well-deserved.

Brandon Graham has had a long and illustrious career with the Eagles. Since being drafted in 2010, Graham has been a staple for the City of Brotherly Love, and his 15-year career is likely nearing its end ahead after Sunday’s clash.

The former Pro Bowler is referring to this game as his last in the NFL. While winning the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in his final season would've been remarkable, a Super Bowl victory wouldn’t be half bad either.

"For me, this being my last year, you want to be able to pass the torch to some good hands" Graham said this week. "I’m just happy that I’m able to play in this last one."
