This is after Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown made all sorts of waves for his cryptic reaction to Derrick White getting called up to the national team as Leonard’s replacement. It has been a polarizing decision by USA Basketball, and Brown’s actions have made the issue even more controversial.

Boston Celtics News: Jayson Tatum Reacts to Jaylen Brown Issue

Celtics talisman Jayson Tatum, who himself is one of three Boston players on Team USA alongside Jrue Holiday and now Derrick White, was asked to share his thoughts on this recent development involving Brown. When asked if he had already spoken to his superstar teammate about the issue, Tatum admitted that he had not.

When further probed by reporters, Tatum got a bit awkward in attempting to provide a diplomatic response:

“I mean, there’s so many guys that could, you know, take the last spot or whatever,” Tatum said when asked if it was “though” not having Brown on the national squad. “So, yeah, it is.”

You can clearly tell that Tatum is doing his best to steer clear of this controversial topic. He’s just not touching it with a 10-foot pole.
