Celtics Jayson Tatum benched again at Olympics. His mom has thoughts

While Tatum was clowned on social media for taking a backseat, several personalities (especially from the Boston Celtics community) have lauded him for his professionalism. And most recently, one of them was former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, widely regarded as the NFL’s GOAT.

“A true professional! A true champion! And a great O teammate! We should celebrate people who care more about the team success than the individual success! There are so many people involved in every organization who don’t always play a “starting” role but play a huge role in the success of the team. I have more respect for Jayson Tatum now more than ever! 10 now this is what we should be teaching our kids!” Brady wrote as a comment on Instagram.

Because of his benching, many speculated whether Jayson Tatum would still be willing to play for Team USA for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the five-time NBA All-Star is not letting his minutes in Paris affect his decision.

Jayson Tatum wants to win another ring for the Boston Celtics

The feeling of winning titles doesn’t get old, and Jayson Tatum wants to experience it again with the Boston Celtics next season.

Speaking with Jared Weiss of The Athletic, the Boston Celtics star said he doesn’t want to live in the past, as he is far from being done with achieving more success.

“I’m of the mindset that after ring night, in a weird way, we got to put that behind (us). Last year was last year. We did it. It was a dream come true. We worked our a** off for it. But after ring night, we gotta move on. We gotta get ready for game two,” Tatum said.
