Bold & Beautiful’s Sick Next Move for Luna Just May Make You Lose Your Lunch

Guess The Bold and the Beautiful thinks that because it’s spent years letting Sheila get away with murder, attempted murder, blackmail and more, we’re so accustomed to monsters running around free as a bird that we’ll just, ya know, get over the fact that her granddaughter Luna followed in her homicidal footsteps. Spoiler alert: We won’t. And that makes the next move that is being charted for the character all the more sickening.

The plot was laid out in the April 14 episode, in which Sheila encouraged Luna’s pursuit of Will in the middle of Il Giardino. (Somehow the arrival of the killer caused no stir whatsoever among the restaurant’s clientele.) All the younger woman needed to do, Granny advised, was get her victim to stop using his brain and start “thinking with another part of his anatomy.” Classy, Grams.

Sheila further laid out the long-term plan for Luna. Whether there should be, Lance’s murderer said, “There’s actually hope out there for girls like you and me. We create the world that we live in.” Then, she continued, they play make-believe until sane people are worn down and give in. “They’re sheep. Eventually, they believe whatever you want them to.”

And if they don’t? “Well then,” Sheila said, “we’ll make them.”

What are we supposed to make of the path down which Bold & Beautiful is taking Luna with Sheila as her guide? That evil triumphs over good? That getting away with murder is cute and funny? Wow, what an awesome message to put out in the world — and played for laughs, no less. By the end of the episode, Granny had slapped a Mario mustache on Luna and sent her to Forrester to delivery something “hot and spicy” to the object of her obsession. Hardy har har.

Meanwhile, Luna’s rival Electra was starring in her own comedy, trying to dissuade Will’s amorous advances by booking them a — wait, what? A spa day? Yes, a spa day. Credit where it’s due: Crew Morrow’s “excited” reaction to that suggestion was hilarious. And since Will hasn’t killed anybody, the laughs were welcome. But nobody’s going to be ROFL if Luna’s next move succeeds. Teasers for the week of April 14 suggest that she’ll have to try, try again to seduce Bill’s son. But as randy as he is, does anyone not expect that at some point she’ll succeed and bring to pass this horrifying twist?
