Earlier this month, we reported that Ashley Jones (Bridget) was making a move, along with her castmates, as The Bold and the Beautiful prepared to leave the CBS Television Studios behind after 38 years. Not only is the actress looking forward to walking the hallways of the soap’s new home, she is so happy to be able to finally talk about her latest project.
On Saturday, September 20, Jones will act as an executive producer and star in a new Lifetime Ripped From the Headlines movie titled The Girl Who Survived: The Alina Thompson Story. “I can’t tell you how happy I am to talk about it!” Jones shared on Instagram then went on to state, “It’s an 80s period true crime piece that my partner Pierre David and I have nurtured from the ground up. We took it to Lifetime over a year ago. I really thought this could be special. And here we are! Very proud to have produced this one with an amazing team.”
Based on a true story, viewers will be taken on a horrifying journey following an aspiring model in 1980s Los Angeles, 15-year-old Alina Thompson, who gets caught in the dangerous web of a serial killer. After Alina sneaks off to take part in an amateur photo casting call, without the knowledge of her parents Carl (Sam Trammell) and Nancy (Jones), she meets up-and-coming photographer William Bradford (Steve Byers). Little does she know that the charming man is a serial killer who lures aspiring young women into secluded photo shoots that end in unspeakable violence. And when Bradford becomes obsessed with Alina, he sets his sights on her as his next victim — but she manages to survive, where others have not, thanks to the instincts of her protective dad and a series of fateful twists.
