The Buffalo Bills' offense was one of the best in football last season (30.9 p/g), and despite that, the team failed to reach the Super Bowl, succumbing to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
The attention then turned to how the Bills can get over that playoff hump and for most, it's getting Josh Allen a bonafide star receiver. We saw it work with Stefon Diggs...until it didn't, and it appears many want Buffalo to go big again.
One name we have constantly heard being floated around is Cincinnati Bengals star Tee Higgins. Yes, the Bengals franchise tagged him, but according to Bleacher Report's Alex Kay, Buffalo should still be calling Cincinnati.
"After coming up short against the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs yet again, the Buffalo Bills once again find themselves looking for answers during a long offseason," Kay writes. "Tee Higgins could be the missing piece for a team becoming downright desperate to secure a Super Bowl before its window closes. An Allen-Higgins connection may be exactly what the Bills need to finally become the team to beat in the AFC."
Of course, Higgins would require a substantial contract, and a move to Buffalo would require general manager Brandon Beane to perform some serious salary cap gymnastics.
Higgins in Buffalo is a great idea, but we aren't sure it's viable given the Bills' salary cap situation (a little over $10 million over the cap per Spotrac.com), and what Higgins could command per year.
Either way, the Bills should at least call and gauge interest because Higgins in that offense with Allen and Co. could be box office.
