The Buffalo Bills are looking solid heading into their upcoming 2025-26 season, and there’s plenty of reason to be optimistic about what this team can deliver this year. For one, the Bills have MVP-winning quarterback Josh Allen at the helm, who is a dream quarterback for any team. So, there’s plenty of excitement surrounding the Buffalo Bills and their future.
While Allen is the reigning MVP in the NFL, there’s another honor that’s even bigger. What’s more, he’s predicted to get that honor, when his time comes. Of course, right now, the Bills are focused on the start of the preseason and regular season, but it’s fun to look past that to what honor Allen could get down the road.
With only a month and some change left until the start of the regular 2025-26 season, in a feature for CBS Sports published on Saturday, Aug. 2, Bryan DeArdo predicts one Hall of Famer for each NFL team. It’s a given who this player is for the Bills.
Josh Allen of the Bills Has a Big Honor Likely Coming
In the CBS Sports feature, DeArdo notes that there’s “no official criteria when determining who is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That being said, based on who has and who hasn’t been enshrined over the past 50 years, it’s safe to say that there are certain things the voters look at when determining who should get a bronze bust and a gold jacket.”

For the article, DeArdo used “interpretation of some of the unspoken criteria used when determining who gets into the Hall of Fame,” and he created a tally of each NFL team’s player with the best chance to make it into the Hall.
Of course, he picked Allen for the Bills. He actually says that Allen isn’t a lock for it yet, but that “Allen’s MVP season helped his future case.” It would be surprising to see Allen miss out on this honor, but it might take a big game win for it to really happen.
“Allen has had a great career so far, but he’ll need to have a few more Pro Bowl caliber seasons before he can be considered a future Hall of Famer,” DeArdo stated in the piece. “With a league MVP in tow, a Super Bowl win may be all Allen needs to be considered a lock for future induction.”
Josh Allen Named the Best Quarterback in the NFL
Here’s some good news for those who love Allen. In a piece published on Friday, Aug. 1, by Fox Sports, the team named Allen the top signal-caller in the league.
“It says a lot to be ranked ahead of Mahomes,” Fox Sports notes in the piece. “While Allen has yet to beat Mahomes in the playoffs, he showed consistency with his arm and legs last season. In 2024, despite not having a single elite target after Stefon Diggs went to Houston, Allen threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns.”
With this much excitement surrounding Allen and his future, the new season can’t get here soon enough.
