Bills Predicted To Add SEC Linebacker In 2026 Who Could Take Matt Milano’s Spot

The NFL opened up training camps last week, and it’s finally time to get to real football games. For the Buffalo Bills, the 2025 season might go down as the best in franchise history, depending on the outcome.

Buffalo has been knocking at the door for the last five years to reach a Super Bowl, but has failed every time.

There is a new feeling around Buffalo that they can finally get to the big game this season. When a team has a quarterback like the Bills do in Josh Allen, then every game is winnable.

Even though Buffalo hasn’t reached the Super Bowl with Allen, it doesn’t mean it won’t happen, and if the Bills keep winning, they will eventually get in.

Buffalo Will Have Big Decisions To Make Next Year

Even though the Bills have their eyes on the 2025 season, teams try to stay focused on what the future can look like, and the Bills will have decisions to make in 2026.

One thing Buffalo will have to figure out is what to do with running back James Cook’s contract.

The 25-year-old two-time Pro Bowler is on the final year of his rookie contract, and as of right now, he will hit the open market next March.

Another decision the Bills will have to make is what to do with 31-year-old linebacker Matt Milano, who will also hit free agency next season.

Bills Predicted To Draft Georgia Linebacker In 2026

If the Bills decide to move on from both players, then they might address the need in the NFL Draft, and Brentley Weissman from Pro Football Network has the team drafting Georgia linebacker CJ Allen as a possible replacement for Milano in a 2026 early mock draft.

“Another year, another Georgia linebacker going in the first round. CJ Allen enters the season as the clear-cut number one linebacker in scouting circles and should be a sure-fire first-round pick with a strong season. Allen has excellent size, athleticism, and instincts, and is a playmaker at the second level,” Weissman wrote. He fills the lanes with a quick trigger in the run game and displays enough speed to run sideline to sideline. “Buffalo has talented linebackers already in the fold, but with Allen still on the board, they cannot pass on him. He would fit nicely with Terrel Bernard, and would give the Bills stud linebackers to man the second level of their defense.”

It’s way too early to start getting excited about the 2026 NFL Draft, but an NFL team can never go wrong with drafting a Georgia defensive player.

Georgia has great defenders all over the league, and there’s a chance the Bills add one Georgia player to the 2026 roster while watching another Bulldog walk through the door in James Cook.
