The Bills are onto the NFL playoffs, which has been locked in since they clinched the AFC East on December 1. They ran away with the division and are gearing up for another run as the No. 2 seed in the AFC, which is where they've been slotted each of the last three seasons.
This season, though, Buffalo clearly has an advantage that they haven't had in years past. This year's Bills team is entering the playoffs almost entirely healthy, something that has eluded them in the past.
Linebacker Terrel Bernard was the only player ruled out due to injury in Week 18, but it looks as though he'll be on track to play next weekend. Last year, when the Bills hosted the Chiefs in the Divisional Round, injuries were a major concern. Buffalo was without Bernard, star nickel cornerback Taron Johnson, and cornerback Christian Benford from their defense. Buffalo was also down linebacker Matt Milano, who was out on IR.
The injuries created massive issues, and although the game was a slugfest that came right down to the end, Kansas City prevailed. Those injuries were detrimental, especially in covering Travis Kelce, who finished the day with five receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
A healthy Bills team will enter the playoffs with one of the best offenses in the league, the MVP-frontrunner at quarterback, a superstar breakout running back in James Cook that led the league in rushing touchdowns, and a hungry and opportunistic defense. The playoffs can't get here soon enough.
