Bills Add to Josh Allen's Weaponry In Latest Mock Draft

The Buffalo Bills offense was one of the best in football last season with MVP winner Josh Allen steering the ship.Bills Add to Josh Allen's Weaponry In Latest Mock Draft

The unit averaged 30.9 points per game en route to locking up the division and winning two playoff games before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.

For some, the Bills need a true No. 1 weapon for Allen, despite Josh Palmer being signed in free agency to add to a receiver room containing Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, and Keon Coleman to give Allen a solid quartet.

But there is a thought that the Bills might want to add some depth to the position, and in CBS Sports' latest mock draft, the franchise doesn't go defense in the first round, it's Missouri receiver Luther Burden III who comes to the AFC East.

"The numbers don't blow you away (66 catches, 771 yards) but don't be fooled; Burden is a first-round talent and game-changer with the ball in his hands," CBS Sports writes. "The QB play at Mizzou was inconsistent in 2024 because Brady Cook was injured for much of the season, but there's a reason he had 86 receptions for 1,212 yards and nine TDs in 2023."

The selection of Burden III would create some great depth for the Bills receiver room, plus give Allen yet another deep threat in the passing game.

A menace on short throws with his yards-after-catch ability making him a big weapon in the right scheme, Burden is capable of winning at all three levels. Burden will give Allen a home-run threat, but also a receiver capable of winning on short routes, so Joe Brady can use the rookie in a host of different ways.

The Bills' need for a receiver can be questioned, but if Burden is on the board when Buffalo picks, it will be an interesting decision for general manager Brandon Beane.

When you have an MVP winner at quarterback, surrounding him with weapons is never a bad thing, and in Burden, the Bills get a receiver who will grow with Shakir and Coleman to hopefully develop a terrifying three-headed monster for Allen to tear defenses apart with.
