Iconic actor and filmmaker Ben Stiller made waves on social media after responding to a post on X by New York Knicks forward Josh Hart about the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.
The post focused on the All-Star starter selections, specifically whether Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns—two of the league's standout performers this season—would earn starting spots.
Hart tweeted, “If 11 and 32 aren’t starters….We Riot,” referring to Brunson and Towns. Stiller, a lifelong Knicks fan, replied, “No riot required” followed by a slew of fire emojis. This was after the Knicks duo was selected as starters for the All-Star Game.
The duo’s selection marked the first time Knicks teammates were All-Star starters since Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe in 1975.
The honor is well-deserved. The Knicks have had a stellar start to the 2024-25 NBA season, boasting a 29-16 record and sitting third in the Eastern Conference standings. Much of their success can be credited to the dynamic performances of Brunson and Towns.
Brunson has continued to excel, averaging 26.0 points and 7.3 assists per game while shooting an efficient 48.6 percent from the field. Meanwhile, Towns, acquired in a blockbuster trade during the offseason, has been a revelation, posting 25.1 points and 13.9 rebounds per game—ranking second in the league in rebounding.
With Mitchell Robinson expected to return from injury soon and trade rumors swirling ahead of the deadline, New York is poised for a strong push to solidify its contender status. For now, Knicks fans and Stiller can celebrate this All-Star milestone as another sign of the franchise’s resurgence.
