It's no secret that the Chicago Bears' 2024 season has not unfolded as many had hoped. The Bears started out 4-2 but have since lost eight games in a row and were officially eliminated from the playoffs prior to their woeful performance against the Minnesota Vikings last Monday Night.
Two coaches have been fired this season, and it's all but assured at this point that the current interim head coach, Thomas Brown, will not be part of the staff that will be brought in next year. Wide Receiver DJ Moore was asked about the team's struggles and specifically how he planned on approaching the offseason.
While Moore may have been a little too candid by using the word 'vacation,' I can't fault him based on the question's premise. He knows that this team will have a whole new coaching staff and philosophy come training camp next year.
While it may have been nice for him to use a cliched line such as "work on timing with Caleb," I think it's natural for team players to reset and put this season behind them. Moore knows that whoever is brought in will be done outside of his consultation, so all he can do is come in and be ready to work.
