Bears star makes emphatic statement on retirement consideration amid head injuries

Three consecutive seasons with concussion problems could change someone's mind about their future playing football.

That's not the case for Chicago Bears safety Jaquan Brisker.

Aaron Glenn on Justin Fields: 'The sky's the limit' for him

Brisker's latest head injury came in October, and he missed Chicago's final 12 games.

Speaking on 670 The Score on Wednesday, Brisker said he was diagnosed with a vestibular concussion. He had to undergo physical therapy to "re-train" his nervous system.

Despite all that, Brisker is committed to the Bears and his personal football future.

"I’m good," Brisker said. "I’m past that point. I’m really moving on. I’m just focused on playing ball. I’m going to continue to play the same way.”

Brisker was a second-round pick out of Penn State in 2022.

He played 15 games in both 2022 and 2023 before the five-game season in 2024.

Brisker has an interception in each of his first three seasons. He has 247 tackles in 35 games.

He simply loves football.

“It was hard being away from football,” Brisker said. “Especially week to week, it was kind of being sad and depressing, things like that. But I got over it. It’s time to move on. I’m back now.”

This will be the final year of Brisker's rookie contract.

The football world, not just the Bears, is surely hoping he stays healthy.
