Do the Chicago Bears have their future head coach? Over the last week or so, rumors started floating about a former Super Bowl-winning head coach potentially joining the Bears. Pete Carroll, the former head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, is rumored to be interested in coaching Chicago.
There's a lot of excitement and buzz in the air, but what do the players feel about this rumor? Bears star wide receiver DJ Moore talked about Pete Carroll and what he could bring to the team on the radio show "670 The Score."
"He's respected, and he has done it at a high level, Moore said when asked about whether Carroll would be a good fit for the Bears. "Everybody would have to pay attention and listen. Because he has done it already."
Carroll has a coaching record that many coaches dream of having. With a 137-69-1 record with the Seahawks, five NFC titles and a Super Bowl under his belt, Carroll is one of the most decorated coaches of his era. Even in his final years in Seattle, Carroll was able to pilot the team to the postseason.
The Seahawks let Carroll go in the 2024 season and opted to go with defensive coordinator Mike McDonald as their head coach of the future. After an extended break, the seasoned head coach might be making a return to the NFL with a new team.
The Bears would love to have a proven coach leading the way for Caleb Williams. Head coach Matt Eberflus was fired this season after a massive losing streak, one that Chicago hasn't quite recovered from.
Carroll is by no means a surefire solution (no coaching change is a guaranteed solution), but his track record should make Bears fans confident that he can help fix this team.
