The Bears took Michigan tight end Colston Loveland with their first-round pick and then took Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III.
Burden and Loveland could have a significant role in the offense this season. With the two coming to the team after free agency, some players who signed in the offseason could be in trouble.
Former Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Miles Boykin signed with the Bears this offseason and could already be a cut candidate, according to Ryan Heckman from Fansided.
"Bears fans who are local to Chicago might know Miles Boykin well from his time at Notre Dame, not too far down the road," Heckman wrote. "After being a third-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens back in 2019, he spent two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers before bouncing around practice squads in 2024."
Boykin has spent five seasons in the NFL and has recorded 498 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 73 games.
Boykin didn't record a stat in an NFL game in 2024, so the last time he saw any real action was in 2023, when he played in all 17 games with the Steelers.
Boykin will likely be present for all of training camp and may make the roster if the team needs additional help.
