We have a new fan favorite in Green Bay.

Barryn Sorrell Scouting Report | NFL Draft 2025

It didn't take long for Barryn Sorrell to win over Green Bay Packers fans.

He achieved this within seconds of hearing his name called. Sorrell had waited in the green room into the draft's final day, and his patience paid off with a moment to celebrate with the hometown fans in Green Bay.

Sorrell's pass-rush ability will help a Packers defense that desperately needs more consistency up front, but beyond that, he will undoubtedly become a favorite among the fan base.

On Sunday morning, Sorrell took to Twitter (formerly X) to send a message to his new fans.

"I don't know if there's a better feeling than waking up a Green Bay Packer today! Let's work!" Sorrell wrote.

And we're so glad he's here.

Fourth-round pick Barryn Sorrell instantly wins over Packers fans

Sorrell could've heard his name called much earlier, as many predicted he would be a Day 2 pick. But he maintained a healthy perspective and stuck around in Green Bay, understanding his time would come.

He delivered an all-time press conference shortly after the Packers drafted him. Sorrell got emotional as he introduced his family and spoke about how much they meant to him.

It was a special moment.

"Beloved in the Texas program. Will be a key depth piece and big time locker room guy. Huge fan," writes Dane Brugler of The Athletic.

If you watched Sorrell's press conference, that won't come as a surprise to you. His energy and positivity were contagious.

On the field, Sorrell can make just as big of an impact. He led Texas with 49 pressures last season and knows how to get after the quarterback. Lukas Van Ness, you are on notice. Van Ness is a former first-rounder and will be given every opportunity to become a featured starter this season, but if he continues to struggle, Sorrell might get a chance to eat into his snaps early on.

It was clear how much it meant to him to hear his name called on Day 3 of the draft. Sorrell instantly gained thousands of new fans in attendance, and he is now among the newest members of the Packers family.
