Baltimore Ravens WR Gets Candid About Lamar Jackson's MVP Loss, 'Don't Want to Get in Trouble...'

After a 12-5 season, the Baltimore Ravens were impressive, led by two-time MVP winner Lamar Jackson and superstar running back Derrick Henry.

The star-studded roster the Ravens had assembled paid off to an extent. The playoffs are where the real success is had. Once again, Jackson and the Ravens fell short.

However, another playoff shortcoming doesn't take away from just how remarkable the Louisville product has been during his NFL career in Baltimore.

Jackson had another MVP-caliber season, posting 4,172 passing yards, 41 passing touchdowns and four interceptions. He also had 915 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

The Ravens quarterback, along with Henry, set history as Jackson surpassed 1,000 total rushing yards, playoffs included, with Henry surpassing the 2,000 rushing yards mark altogether.

Despite the superb counting stats and another successful regular season campaign from Jackson, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen took home the MVP award on the season.

Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman was quite upset with Jackson being snubbed, and he took to the FFHH set on Radio Row in New Orleans to sound off on the voters.

"I hope I don't get in trouble for this," Bateman said. "It's definitely behind the scenes of what's going on. That's just the world we live in, 'cause it's night and day.

"He should have won MVP, he was robbed. Lamar was All-Pro, and he didn't win MVP. ... He had him beat in every category, so it's like, bro, what are we looking at? ... Respect to Josh, we all know he's an amazing player. But I mean, when you watch the game and look at the numbers, it's like what are we valuing here?"

Bateman, rightfully so, went to bat for his quarterback. The Ravens wide receiver, in his fourth NFL season, caught 45 passes for a career-high 756 yards and nine touchdowns.
