Much like the rest of the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens will also be looking to make a few more tweaks to their roster in preparation for the new season. Training camp is just a few weeks away, and the Ravens would prefer to have their roster as close to its final form as possible.
This is exactly why now would be a good time for them to consider reuniting with former star linebacker Matthew Judon.
Baltimore Ravens Urged to Consider Trade for Matthew Judon
Judon has seen his name dragged into all sorts of trade rumors this summer as he enters his fourth season with the New England Patriots. With the buzz seemingly intensifying around Judon’s future with the Pats, it has all of a sudden become a distinct possibility that the four-time Pro Bowl LB could dawn a different uniform in 2024.
In this light, Matt Holder of Bleacher Report believes that the Ravens should seriously consider trading for Judon:
“Granted, this depends on the Patriots’ willingness to trade Judon, but the Ravens could use a third-down rusher with a stronger track record than David Ojabo or rookie Adisa Isaac to help give their defense another pass-rusher and make a Super Bowl run.
“Judon spent the first five seasons of his NFL career in Baltimore where he racked up 34.5 sacks, so it’d be interesting to see his career come full circle, and the team’s defense could use his services,” Holder wrote.
Judon is a big name with an impressive resume. As indicated above, he does have the ability to elevate Baltimore’s defense to the level of a Super Bowl contender.
This also means, however, that the Ravens will need to give up a major haul to convince the Pats to part ways with Judon. Whether or not Baltimore possesses the assets New England will demand in a potential deal, however, is an altogether different matter.
