Bad News Strikes Conor Garland As Vancouver Canucks Announce Lines for Matchup Against Jets

Tonight's projected lines for the Vancouver Canucks' game at Rogers Arena against the Winnipeg Jets have been released following the team's morning skate.

After a loss to Utah Hockey Club on Sunday night, which saw their playoff odds drop by a little over 10 percent, the Vancouver Canucks will be back in action tonight at Rogers Arena for their final home game of March.

The Canucks took to the ice for their morning skate with a couple of notable absences and it looks like there's going to be some changes to the forward lines.

Vancouver Canucks' projected lines vs Winnipeg Jets

As the morning skate got underway on Tuesday, Filip Chytil, who is dealing with a concussion, and Conor Garland were not on the ice.

'Filip Chytil and Conor Garland are absent from #Canucks morning skate.' Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 said.

Brock Boeser was put back on the top line by Rick Tocchet and will likely be with Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander tonight.

With Garland not participating in the morning skate, Kiefer Sherwood took his spot on the second line alongside Pius Suter and Jake DeBrusk.

Linus Karlsson, who was called up by the Canucks on Tuesday, was skating on the third line with Teddy Blueger and Drew O'Connor.

2022 first-round pick Jonathan Lekkerimaki is set to be on the fourth line, with Nils Aman as his centerman, which was the case Sunday vs Utah, and Dakota Joshua slotting in on left wing.

As for the defensive pairings, those will remain the same from Sunday's game, for the most part, with a possibility that Victor Mancini is scratched in favor of Elias Pettersson, the latter of whom skated on the third pairing with Derek Forbort this morning.

'Tuesday morning skate #Canucks lines

Hoglander. EP40. Boeser.
DeBrusk. Suter. Sherwood.
O'Connor. Blueger. Karlsson.
Joshua. Åman. Lekkerimaki.

Hughes. Hronek.

Mancini.' Batchelor shared on X.

After the morning skate, Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters that Connor Garland will be a game-time decision tonight.

'Conor Garland is banged up and a game time decision for tonight according to Tocchet.' Harman Dayal of The Athletic said.

Puck drop for tonight's game against the Winnipeg Jets is set for 7 pm PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
